The US Embassy in Nigeria announced closure over violent protest in Nigeria

  

The united states embassy and consulate in Nigeria, announced two days closure of it's embassy in 

Lagos state following the ongoing nation wide #ENDSARS Protest which is said to have been

Hijacked by hoodlums, with several properties destroyed and lives lost

The temporal closure will take effects from Tuesday, 20,october 2020.

It was disclosed In a statement issued by the US embassy and consulate in Nigeria to 

American citizens on Tuesday,20 October 2020 

The US embassy and consulate in it statement said:

     Multiple demonstrations are ongoing across Nigeria to include  areas within the consular  districts of Abuja and Lagos. Although most  demonstrations are peaceful, some Multiple demonstrations are ongoing across Nigeria – to include areas within the consular districts of Abuja and Lagos. Although most demonstrations are peaceful, some have become violent and have shut down major thoroughfares and bridges.

It advice their citizens to avoid areas of the demonstrations and be very watchful and keep low profile,

also monitor Local media for updates and follow the travel instructions for Nigeria.
